NEW ORLEANS (BP)--Terrell Owens, the controversial star of the Dallas Cowboys, was in the news again in late September. Did he attempt suicide or survive an accidental overdose? We may never know the truth, not that we need to know.Unfortunately, 87 people made the decision to complete the act of suicide -- today. Every 17 minutes someone dies by his or her own hands. The most recent statistic on suicide compiled by the Centers for Disease Control showed more than 31,000 people died in 2003. Firearms, suffocation and poisoning are the leading methods of suicide. Suicide is the third leading cause of death for teenagers. (more)
Terrell is a good player. I'm just concerned about his ability to show up all the time.

Bill Parcells implied he no longer had the mental focus to continue as head coach. We have to wonder how many years Owens took off Parcells' coaching life this season.
I hope Phillips can bring some glory back to the cowboys.
